Module Iii: Implant prosthodontics, provisionals, occlusion, impressions
This is a great hands-on course that reviews all the steps in taking impressions, making provisionals and delivering your final crowns. Module 3 can be taken as a stand alone course for those who are only interested in restoring implants and want to do little to no surgery.
This module will provide a detailed, step-by-step procedural work flow for the restorative process, from impression-making procedures to provisional restorations, occlusion design, and final implant restoration insertion. We will go over the basics of taking implant impressions and how to collaborate with the laboratory to deliver the best implant restoration possible.
Hands-on exercises will be used to review the accuracy of various impression-making techniques, and proper communication with the lab and understanding of the lab requirements will be reinforced.
The fundamentals of implant occlusion and restorative material selection, as well as the design of functional and aesthetic provisional restorations, will be covered. The Straumann abutment range, as well as the indications for their use in specific cases, will be thoroughly reviewed. More hands-on exercises will be used to reinforce the role of provisionals in ideal soft-tissue development.
All steps involved in the final implant restoration's delivery and insertion will be thoroughly reviewed. Correct cementation procedures, fit checking, restorative adjustments, screw torques, and post-insertion procedures and maintenance will be given special attention.
